Quick Facts
TOPHAT II is a new generation, heat and disease tolerant, very dark green, endophyte enhanced perennial ryegrass variety.
Versatile
It can be utilised in all perennial ryegrass applications where high quality turf is desired. TOPHAT II forms a leafy fine textured turf with rapid germination, excellent traffic tolerance, and poly-species compatibility.
Leaf spot resistant
In the 2001 Rutgers Turfgrass Proceedings report, TOPHAT II showed resistance to Gray leaf spot, a disease devastating to many turf grasses: "Two experimental selections, RNS comp, and PR-154 (Tophat II) showed very good resistance to this disease." (2001 Rutgers Turfgrass Proceedings). It is also excellent for winter overseeding programs on greens, tees and fairways, either alone or in species mixtures.
